人工器官研究所公开讲座 ——世说心语 第2讲

        讲座内容简述

        Ashraf William Khir教授将全面介绍布鲁内尔大学在生物医学工程领域中的科研工作,涵盖了组织工程到面部表情研究等。在心室辅助装置领域,报告将分为3个方向:A)体外模拟循环系统,该装置可以模拟动脉床环路并且适合于测试心室辅助装置,B)一种新型轴流泵,具有植入性以及双向泵血功能。C)主动脉内球囊泵,通过改变球囊形状以优化此类治疗方式。在动脉波领域,该报告将涵盖各种波速测量方法,包括最新的非侵入性技术,用于动脉僵硬度和扩张性的测量。在颈动脉和升主动脉中使用这种技术的临床意义也将被讨论。

        In the presentation, Prof Khir will give an overview of Biomedical Engineering activities at Brunel University; from tissue engineering to facial expressions.In the area of ventricular assist devices, the presentation will cover 3 main subareas; a) mock circulatory loops, where an loop that can represent the arterial bed and would be suitable for testing VAD devices, b) a novel axial flow pump, potentially implantable, which can operate as continuous and as a revisable flow generator and c) the intra aortic balloon pump, where the shape of the balloons have been changed to optimise the performance of this therapy.In the area of Arterial waves, the presentation will cover the various methods of determining wave speed, including the latest non-invasive technique for determining arterial stiffness and distensibility that has been introduced by Prof Khir.The clinical implications of using such techniques at both the carotid artery and ascending aorta will also be discussed.

        Ashraf William Khir教授是英国布鲁内尔大学生物医学工程的领头人,该团队包括大约25名学术研究人员,他们工作在生物医学工程的不同领域。目前,Khir教授也有自己的研究小组,主要集中在生理流体力学领域。他的研究跨越两个相互联系的领域;1)心室辅助装置和2)动脉波。

        Prof Ashraf W Khir is the Theme Leader of Biomedical Engineering at Brunel University, UK, which comprises a team of approximately 25 academic researchers who work in various areas of the broad field of Biomedical Engineering. Prof Khir also has his own research group, which focuses mainly in the area of Physiological Fluid Mechanics. His works spans over two interconnected areas: 1) Ventricular Assist Devices and 2) Arterial Waves.
